According to a Forbes ranking, Microsoft is the most socially responsible company in the world. Microsoft has donated over $1 billion to various causes since 1983. Microsoft has also launched Microsoft YouthSpark, a "company-wide, global initiative to create opportunities for 300 million youth over three years." Microsoft is partnered with 186 youth-serving nonprofits in order to accomplish such a feat.

Since 1992, Timberland has been encouraging their workers to participate in community service* projects by offering up to 40 paid community service hours each year to their employees. They have also been partnered with City Year*, a non-profit located in Boston. They have been donating Timberland work boots to City Year as well as large cash donations.

Starbucks has been socially responsible for years. They have reduced their water consumption by more than 21% over baseline levels. Starbucks has recently donated $1 million for the development of LeadersUp, a non profit that provides jobs and leadership skills to youth.
