Opposing Viewpoints
Not everyone agrees that businesses have the duty to help the world around them. Some think that profits are the only goal worth pursuing for a business.
While there is definitely merit in this opinion because the majority of businesses are created for job security and to make profits, there is no reason for a business that is successful to not consider donating at least some of their profits to social or environmental programs.
The other main counterargument to social responsibility is that plenty of businesses will use social responsibility as a facade to cover up improper or immoral actions. People will always abuse the system; the answer is not to get rid of the good to stop the few that abuse it.
